Background of the Study
Healthcare infrastructure is a critical component of any sustainable healthcare system, directly influencing the accessibility and quality of health services. In Bagudo LGA, Kebbi State, the government is responsible for the allocation and utilization of financial resources to develop and maintain healthcare facilities. Governmental accounting practices are essential for ensuring the transparency, accountability, and efficiency of healthcare financing. However, the adequacy of healthcare infrastructure in Bagudo LGA continues to be a concern, with issues such as underfunded projects, delayed implementation, and mismanagement of resources. Statement of the Problem
Despite the government’s efforts, healthcare infrastructure in Bagudo LGA remains inadequate, with poor facilities and insufficient medical equipment hindering the delivery of quality healthcare services. Weak governmental accounting practices, including poor budgeting and a lack of transparency in fund allocation, are often cited as contributing factors. This study will examine the impact of governmental accounting on the development and management of healthcare infrastructure in Bagudo LGA.
